Quick check - how many people do we have on here from Houston?
Thought it might be a good idea have a thread to discuss anything - future events/watch parties, etc.
Obviously we are a bit handcuffed by the virus at the moment, but let’s also kick around some ideas. What do you think would be good for future events? What made past events good/bad? Are you plugged in to any communication (email, facebook, twitter)? Other suggestions on how to get more people involved?
Let’s hear it.

Lafayette Cajun here, but I wanted to also express the need to galvanize the Houston market. As listeners to the pod go, Dallas far and away out-listens(word?) the Houston market. During the RCAF outreaches, numbers say that Houston should have many more participants (in relation to other alumni bases with similar size) across the board.
Very important to get the Houston base involved.

Has BasinBear found this place yet? I thought he lived in the area. Maybe Missouri City?

Chris, you might want to start with HoustonCajun, LafitteThePirate and Basinbear that have been actively involved in Houston outreach and fundraising in the past. Right now is not a good time, but these would be the first three people to speak with that know some of the obstacles that they faced in the past.

Agreed, those guys have been a great resource over the years, as they have great insight. The biggest problem right now is that most of the people involved in HRC in the hey-day of the 90’s have withdrawn for various (good) reasons. Simultaneously, you have a bunch of 40-and-under alumni who didn’t exactly have a lot of school spirit instilled in them, so they are harder to engage. But the tide is turning in the right direction!

BasinBear doesnt need to be contacted as this moment. We all just need to keep him in our prayers. Maybe down the road he can be reached out to.

Very sad for Lou...Donna was the best. Obituary says that Donna can be honored with donations to the ULL Athletic Association. I am sure that was mean to say RCAF. RCAF administrators and Athletic Department administrators are aware of this request and working to set up a memorial fund. When more information about his is available, I will post here. Hopefully many of you can honor the family's request.

Yes sir, I was well aware of that since both are good friends of mine. That is why I said right now is not a good time. Today has been a very tough day for her family and friends. I feel very fortunate to have known her kindness and compassion as a friend. There are some people that you cross paths with in life that touch you in such a positive and loving way, she was one of those people for me.
