Well, Total Wine and more opened yesterday.
They had Eagle Rare yesterday, but it sold out.
I'll say this. $17.99 for Sazerak Rye is a great price. So is Buffalo Trace for 19.99 And, saw Angel's Envy for under 40 bucks for the first time ever. Great selection and also great selection of ryes which are separated from the bourbon
And, you won't believe the beer selection.
I think I have a new happy place.

Yea, I looked for Eagle Rare and it wasn't there. I picked up a bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch, which the attendant said was similar in taste profile. Definitely a one-stop shop for anything alcohol-related. Even has a decent walk-in humidor.

I’m glad to continue the bourbon thread. I’ve got some questions and concerns with Woodford Reserve. Here’s my story.
Opened my first bootle of Woodford last night. Sat around the patio with the misses for about 4 hours drinking my Woodford on ice while she enjoyed margaritas.
Here’s where things get interesting. I get up to go in the house around 9 and don’t remember anything until 4 am today. Does Woodford normally cause amnesia? Is it temporary or permanent?
My wife had to tell me what happened. Said I went in the house ate supper and then headed to bed. Hopefully this is what really happened. I woke this morning wondering if I had eaten supper and trying to find that missing time.
Maybe Woodford is not right for me or there is some type of amnesia drug in there. Should I save the rest of the bottle for Cajun games I need to forget? Need help from you bourbon purveyors like iamjaywalker or Melrock. Or maybe I’m a rookie and need to switch out to JTMeleck vodka?
Thoughts/concerns???

Did you drink the whole bottle? 😂😂 I've never had that problem with Woodford's, but I generally stop drinking once I get a good buzz. I took a trip across town to the new alcoholic's paradise to check it out, and my God, was that place packed. Holy moly. Wanted Blanton's or Angel Envy, but both were sold out. One of the clerk's suggested I try Black Ridge port barrel finish, and I'm glad I did. It is very smooth. Like Jay said earlier, this place is stocked to the gills, somewhat overwhelming.😲

I’ll need to check out that AA temptation. I may pass out with all the choices. Good problem to have.

Stopped by Total Wine earlier before dinner. Very impressive. I agree with Jay about this being my new happy place. Picked up a bottle of Sazerac. Enjoying a pour now.

There are a lot of things to like about this place. One is the knowledge of the staff. Their suggestions are very helpful. I'm always in the market to try something new and a good recommendation goes a long way.
I bought a bottle of Buffalo Trace yesterday. I've never seen it under 20 bucks before.
And, I noticed they had sold out of Angel's Envy. I saw it for $55 yesterday in a store. These guys were selling it for under 40. No wonder it sold out.

If you like ryes Bulliet has a great one and avoid Whistle Pig. Many good points on this topic. I “have” to entertain clients in KY several times a year which is difficult because there are too many choices of great bourbon that you rarely find in other states. I’ve been to several sketchy liquor stores down there and was simply amazed at their bourbon selection.
On the topic of Woodford Reserve, if you are ever in the Lexington area I highly suggest going on their distillery tour. When I opened my truck door I imagined that is what heaven smells like.

I need to know ASAP if anyone sees those two limited edition Michter's Bourbon anywhere in Lafayette.
Michter’s 10 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
2020 release of its 10 Year Single Barrel Rye.

Anyone try Old Tub? I got a recommendation from a buddy. I usually try to limit bourbon to the weekends but since I picked up a bottle this evening, I gotta try it right?

Well, at least I thought it was funny.
