Here’s my view on this one. This wasn’t associated with Black Lives Matter, Inc. This was on the same day as the walk to Washington. It was peaceful and on their time. It wasn’t at a game. It wasn’t something they didn’t tell the public they were doing for publicity. If you’re offended by them planning and doing something on their own that doesn’t affect you then you have a problem.

I had no issue with there march today. But is some ways it was associated with BLM. The signs and vocal messages suggested so. To each there own. I am a proud Cajun supporter so I supported these guys today as it was peaceful and they are entitled to that.

Trying not to jump in Trying not to jump in Trying not to jump in ...oh gosh, now I’m gonna have to point out how dumb this sentence is. Well since it’s your dumb azz opinion nothing is new. So you...uhhh...agree with the statement then?

Like the old saying, “If a person is not a liberal when he is twenty, he has no heart; if he is not a conservative when he is forty, he has no head.” These student athletes are still learning about themselves. Some may become big liberals and some may become big time conservatives. This is the stage they learn and take that path.

Now that’s a very important question. Maybe I’ll keep pace with my 10 year old to keep him motivated. That way I have an excuse for the slow time. 😂

Final straw, my RCAF donations are done. I am #189 according to the RCAF and they won’t see another penny. I have spent 28 years in Law Enforcement and this is a slap on the face to all of us who wear the badge. These officers will be cleared as it was a justified shooting.
You see the guy they shot should not be a hero to anyone, he chose to arm himself and threaten people with a big knife. Every option available to the officers was used with negative results. The law clearly states that lethal force can be used to stop a threat to the officers and to defend the public. That is what they did.
This is not a black and white issue, it’s an issue of right and wrong, This guy made a bad decision and paid for it with his life. In this butt backwards world of coddling and participation trophy’s, people have lost sight of right and wrong, everyone is a victim. Well the latest victim is UL athletics, they made a wrong decision and it’s going to cost them.
PS, one if the officers involved is black. I’m done.

First, thank you for what you do. Now the main question. Did the players say they were protesting those exact situations or did you just assume that? I agree that from initial reports, the officers were right in their decisions (except for the George Floyd situation). The timing and optics say they’re protesting these officer involved shootings, but how many of these young adults have had misunderstandings with people enforcement where they felt like they were being singled out because of their skin color? Does the officers prejudice create these misunderstandings or is it because the young adult was acting stupid? There’s always 3 sides to a story; my side, your side, and the truth. The only way to find the truth is to have the conversation.

I absolutely have no issue with what they did today whatsoever. That’s actually what I wish we would see more of, a unity march in honor of an icon. That’s what it should be about and they did it as a team. You catch more bees with honey than vinegar. I was referencing the return of sports so far hadn’t peaked my interest one bit. I hope that changes with the cajuns and saints but if it doesn’t, so be it. It May just be a change in personal priorities and interests. Also, I believe the unity march today was in honor of MLK’s “ I have a dream” speech 57 years ago not a protest against law enforcement. I could be wrong but that’s what I took from it

Would anyones opinion on the "Unity March" change if you were told this was mandatory for the players?

I support what happened today. I’m proud to be associated with men that protested the way, in my opinion, gets results. If you listened to TJ Wisham’s words today, you understand that this wasn’t a reprimand on anyone, rather a stand for something.
How can you possibly be offended by kids demonstrating leadership? Isn’t that what they’re here to learn? Isn’t that the essence of what we want them to leave our university with? Don’t we want to empower these athletes, with confidence, leadership and stability? Create an environment where they understand the value of being good stewards of their money, good Shepards for their families and valuable assets to our community?
What the hell are y’all píssed off about?

I don't think the Lafayette Police department is excited that these kids are showing this type of leadership either. Did all of these march in unity or were some of them force to unify?

I don’t think that the way we interpret and contextualize their experience really matters or changes the intention. I know that they did it the “right” way; peacefully and with dignity. The most American thing you can do is speak up for your cause. I fought for that right, and I support them 100%.

Yall just go watch live PD and you will see how fucking stupid folks act and how hard a job being a police officer is. You have to make split second decisions and you deal with stupidity all time. There are way more good cops than bad. Most of the bad cops that abuse there power are the guys that were nerds in school and got picked on and they want to show there authority in a bad way. Through out the many years of coaching I have also meet many arrogant umpires that also fits that mold. Unfortunately A&E cancelled their highest rated show by a long shot to keep the cancel culture happy . Now their ratings are down 50% www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/live-pd-could-make-a-comeback-after-ae-ratings-plummet-50-percent-following-cancellation.html/
