As we have posters on here that show up with a threat of divulging the real names of those that don’t seem to see eye to eye with them, I am creating a thread to test the pulse of the posters. This is happening to me for the second time in a couple months. It happened to another poster last week. I guess any of you could be next.
It is very unfortunate that threats like this keep over 90% of the followers/members from posting because it’s just not worth it. What it does is drive and limit the content on these boards to that provided by a select few. I was one of those for almost 10 years but decided a couple of years ago during the Napier hire to start participating.
Part of of my participation has been to call out some of the few that drive the content and point out that there are in fact other views by very loyal and dedicated Cajun fans than that of the ones that drive the board. As indicated above, I am now getting a threat to expose my real identity.
So, the purpose of this thread is to feel the pulse of the board on the following:
1. Would you even sign up on a board like this if it was a real name board?
2. If you did sign up, would you even post under your real name?
3. If you did post under your real name would you feel free to provide freely and post exactly how you feel in your discussions?
It should be interesting to see the responses, however I feel certain that the current apathy driven by those who make threats like the one discussed above will likewise serve to minimize any true responses to this thread, however I decided to give it a go.

For the record nobody has threating you or exposed you. I along with many others can care less if you agree or disagree with me and you shouldn't care either. A fan board is supposed to have folks agreeing to disagree. You shouldn't get angry because someone knows who you are and you don't know who they are, that is very childish. It isn't my place to say who you are on this site.Your Cajunvic right? You have talked about me and others plenty of times as I have talked about you plenty of times but we never crossed the lines talking about each others parents, etc. A line on a message board has to be drawn at some point. If you want to post stupid stuff, irrelevant information and sabotage threads over and over then expect folks to call you out. Maybe you think you're not trolling but that is the perception that you have created in the view of many on here. Be honest you have posted a ton on here and rp so you havent ramped up your posting since Coach Napier has been hired. You can call me out anytime you want and there isn't no hard feelings from me. I don't live my life worrying about what other people say or think about me and I suggest you do the same. Maybe try the ignore member list and add folks who you don't like to have conversations with. You say your loyal and I know that I am loyal so maybe MAT can get us on the RR pod. The offer is still there I told you to PM me your number and we can have a talk or a beer. Not sure if you remember but I did tell you where I sit at for football, baseball, and softball games.

I joined RP in Dec of 2004 and my first post was a riddle about 2 days before Napier was hired. So, wrong again.
The rest of your post is riddled with about the same degree of accuracy.

Fact check you have 9,280 post on the rp site. That is a pretty significant number.I have 2,075 since August of 2005. Just move on. You got feedback from your thread. There is no need to answer back wrong again.

Some folks can't handle facts. It is what it is. Hard hitting facts! No need to skate around the truth.

Street smarts and book smarts go hand and hand. Another fact. I will admit I probably ain't as smart as you degree wise, but who is counting? For from knowing it all, but I do have some access and inside information that others may not. There are also many more important people that have more information than me. If it is baseball, softball or track I am in the know. If it isn't those sports I am not as much in the know.

Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes I mean, that's basically what facebook is, right? Doesn't make a difference to me, many people on here know who i am anyway. Heck, my profile picture is actually me. And anything I post on here, I'd say the same thing if I was sitting across a table from you. That being said, this is an anonymous board and should stay that way. So let me turn the question around: what do you think would be an appropriate punishment for someone who reveals another posters name?

Of course some people would never post under their real names for lots of reasons. Primarily retribution from the university, and it’s minions.

Most of us have season tickets, tailgate together, donate to rcaf, support the school etc. We already know who we are on this site because we are true fans and true friends. 100 percent of the 90 percent that VIC claims don't post here because it isn't worth it, don't actually post here 100 percent because of bullshit things that he comments on.

The university removed Turbines credential for photographing the games because he refused to give up the private information. I have zero idea who 85% of the posters really are.

1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes
Even though I do respect people's concerns of anonymity, this is a fan message board about UL sports. We are the customer when it comes to being RCAF members and season ticket holders. I also think there is a fine line of making things personal with topics discussed here as well. I consider sites like these a "Yelp for Ragin' Cajun Athletics." We give our opinions and reviews based on what we see on the field/court/Martin Hall/APC/Cox Building/Etc.
If there's university employees who try to dox people here or call fans out for constructive criticism, great. But again, we are the customers. Our donations pay a portion of their salaries. It's pretty easy to cancel donations if they feel it's going too far. Personally, I don't think employees, such as coaches, should even be lingering here outside of getting of "vibe" of the fanbase. Succeed, and there will be nothing to worry about.
But yeah, I wouldn't have an issue if we had to give our names. Most people know who I am anyway lol.

Another real question...what does retribution from the university look like? I mean, short of withholding season tickets or something, I don’t know what the university could do that would really mean anything.

There’s lots of business issues that aren’t by bid. Also lots of pressure from people who side with the university on all issues vs those who might be at odds. Clearly you’re not aware of Louisiana political rewards and punishment. Grow up, I just gave you the RP example.

As far as fans who do this, that's where the commotion starts. We saw the drama with softball a few years ago where fans were running around taking sides and openly shunning relationships. That's on them, but it is rare.
