Napier spoke at the RCAF board meeting yesterday and in short, said "do not expect the number 1 recruiting class in the Sun Belt this year." He talked about how they are being more selective and recruiting based on need. He said also with everyone getting an extra year of eligibility there will be less need to go the JUCO and taking chances. He does not expect to sign a full class.

Not your doing, but I don't like being set up for lower expectations. If they are being so selective, then it should show up with higher rated individuals, I would think.

I'm a little surprised we don't have more commits. I know he has pushed for and has a very successful walk-on program, so they likely have a few guys that will pick up schollys this season. They also must be waiting on some of the higher rated guys to make a decision, which will take more time. I also wonder if they are playing the lost season card, if the season does get canceled and all these incoming freshman hit the 5 to play 4 reset button. The necks are in a similar position, though Appy appears to have a pretty full class of commits.

I can’t accept that we’re just being more selective and probably won’t have a full class. That sounds like damage control for having a off season. But I’m absolutely backing Nap hopefully has it right.

Ranking is based on number of signees as well as quality, it will always be difficult if not impossible to have the number one class of you only sign 17-18 players. I for one see it as a positive that we are retaining guys and we don’t have as many holes to fill as in the past.

That might play into some lesser recruits not getting offered.
