Yeah, there was no doubt what he said, was when the umps were coddling the Tulane coach after the batter was called out/third strike for sticking his elbow out over the plate and got hit. Also, anyone catch the Tulane PBP guy say he had to go to the bathroom to his engineer about mid to late game? That was funny. I did...that was funny stuff. All in all I thought that PBP guy was alright, except the ULL none sense. He basically said the Cajuns were the better team throughout the weekend and added some good info. I had no idea about Danny F. calling out the Astros drum scandal. Right.. if you could get past the ULL Louisiana Lafayette nonsense they were great broadcasts all the way around. He was very knowledgeable and complimentary of our program. Also, when you gotta go,, you gotta go!!

First opening weekend series win since 2016. First time we are above .500 since the end of the 2018 season. These guys are tough 20 runs scored in the first weekend series is the most I can remember. I hope it's a sign of things to come. Gotta love that we set the tone early and often, but not only that we responded each and every time. Tulane was just outmatched all weekend. Against elite pitching. Tulane is top 25 team.

Through 3 games (obviously small sample size.) The K's are higher than I thought, but a lot is bc we played 3 extra inning games. You can see the At bats per strikeout reflect more of the K rate

The bats showed tons of promise for things to come after this weekend. Here’s a comparison to opening weekends dating back to 2017:
Hits/ Batting Avg. opening weekend: 2021- 33/.262 (23 from newcomers) 2020- 7/.079 2019- 22/.231 2018- 13/.143 2017- 11/.196
Extra Base Hits/ Home runs 2021- 8 3 2020- 2 1 2019- 7 0 2018- 4 0 2017- 2 0

Also, when you gotta go,, you gotta go!! Yeah, he had to get his L's in. Watching Ruston and Alice Shoe right now. I understand, but I can't get pass the muffled voices calling a game. FWIW, bottom of 6th, 7-6, no outs, mutts just walked two batters. Apparently Alice Shoe cleared the bases just before, PBP guy said Alice Shoe just burst thru to take the lead. And as far as gotta go, was told that by an older gentlemen when I was 15. Cardiologist explained it a little more bluntly to me decades later.
