We will win the SBC and clean up our defensive play. Then we will be a very dangerous 2 seed somewhere. Most likely at one of the Mississippi SEC programs. A 2-seed would be awesome. Appears we're going to need to win the tournament at this point, but I do believe this team is capable of doing so. I have us conservatively going 20-6 for the remainder of the season. There isn’t a series left on the schedule that we should lose. Plus we need to win the midweek games, but if we clean up defensively then we should finish the season right around 37-17. It is imperative that we don’t drop midweek games though. I just don’t see how we flounder down the home stretch. Pitching is too deep, and we are starting to smash the ball when we get passed the other teams Friday starter. We will be hard to beat in any remaining weekend series.

An update on the baseball stats by game. Since this is a game# by game# comparison, I excluded 2020 since they only played 17 and would skew the rest. Also, you can ignore the gdp number, because that's being entered wrong for some reason. Know with 100% certainty we've grounded into more than 3 double plays. Live stats will often say "hit into double play" and those aren't getting counted here. Hitting through 28: Pitching/Fielding through 28:
Have to say I don't remember us hitting into a bunch of double plays this year.

You can say that but it’s not 3 lol. We hit into 2 in a single game a few weeks ago

The Top 25 and a likely 2 seed in a Miss or Texas regional. What more is expected? Especially after what 45 total games taking over a program that was in decline?

We won’t finish the season in the top 25. My comment was long term. Any coach would have had an uphill climb here. But we have fundamental issues that are basically irreconcilable with the way Deggs is handling them. Not trying to turn this into a Fire Deggs thing though.

So said player has fundamental issues with said coach. Said coach has met and spoke with every player and their parents when recruiting, and made very clear his philosophy. In fact, said Coach has written a book and has a number of videos out about his views, much like his predecessor. Any player, or players that are uncomfortable with said Coaches philosophies and process should seek opportunity elsewhere. The transfer portal is available. It's interesting that the top player, receiving the most recognition nationally in the program has no problem with said Coach and his philosophy. In fact he praised him in conversation. Sitting next to the grandparents of another player, had nothing but praise for said coach and his philosophy. I understand not every player will buy in to the process, but if that is the case they are cheating themselves and their teammates by remaining in the program. Go somewhere else where you fit and enjoy the college experience.

If they quit believing in their own hype and work as hard to maximize their potential as they do bitching about how they are handled then they might reach their actual potential. Instead they will become a “what could have been” player.

How can posters not turn it into a fire Deggs thing? You said he’s not the guy and then share clubhouse talks that the players don’t trust the staff. I hope you can see how that is not positive comments nor constructive criticism.

Yep, maybe so. Sometimes, it’s the players. And sometimes, it’s not.
But you guys have it all worked out in your heads so I’ll leave the topic alone.
