How'd everyone do with round one of heavy rain yesterday? Probably the most accumulation of water I've ever seen in my yard. Had a small roof leak that did some water damage on the ceiling in one of my rooms. Other than that, no issues.

I live by Lafayette High to where the drainage there actually helps us. Plus, our street is on higher ground; so we were ok. I do have some friends that had trouble getting home from work because streets like Camellia and Ambassador turned into rivers. Also, did you see Legacy Apartments on campus? It looked like a lake out there. Talk about a surprise to everyone yesterday.

Glad you came out alright. Yea, I saw the pictures from Legacy. Looked like there were people stuck in cars in the parking lot. Crazy amounts of rainfall in 3 hours.

Seems like Verot got their drainage issues fixed on that last repair they did.
I did see a car in the ditch on Tolson this morning. Looks like they got pushed in from water.

You mean at the intersection of Verot and Artisan/Camellia? Or Verot in general with the new road?

Quite a bit of standing water in the Foreman/Marie Antoinette area on the roads.
I've lived in my house 13 years. First time I've ever seen standing water on my street in Martin Park.

Here’s to 🙏 the rain stays light.

Seems like the ship has sailed on flood control. Detention and retention ponds seem like the real solution but no one wants to give up that much land.
