Cajuns didn’t win the West because of Deggs. The players won it despite Deggs, and with the help of other teams in the division winning or losing at the end. Imagine the position this team could be in with fun things like a set lineup, a competent hitting coach and base running, etc. Who knows? Maybe they would have a chance at an at-large bid instead of a 1/12 shot at winning the tournament. Haha you serious? How many games did Deggs throw the ball over 1st, or drop a fly ball? Routine plays are on the players. In game coaching decisions is something different. I can only think of 2 maybe 3 games where his decisions cost us games.

Ok? I thought this was a thread about Deggs and this season specifically. We are, I just prefer to put the question in context. If he's not the guy after 1 full season, then where were you on Rob's previous 3 seasons before his death? Just asking for a friend. But I didn’t say that Deggs wasn’t the guy. I want him to be successful here because his success is success for Ragin Cajun Baseball. I’m not a sports analyst or a coach, but I can look at the lineups from the second half of the season, when there should start to be some consistency, and see that (besides 2-3 positions) no one has any idea of where they’ll be playing, or if they’ll be playing, at any given position. No one knows what to expect, someone could practice all week at 1st then be moved to 2nd or 3rd, or be pulled from the lineup all together, the morning of a game, with no reasoning given. It’s all really odd.

Deggs isn’t dropping balls or overthrowing, but there’s a level of play that comes along with knowing who’s to your left and right, where you can almost play with your eyes closed because you’re that familiar with the guys all around you. This team has none of that.

I was high on pitching, not certain about a number of bats.

Kendall Rogers does not have Deggs on his reported short list for A&M. Tim Tadlock from TTU (not likely per Rogers), Schlossnagle from TCU, Vitello at Tenn, Godwin at ECU (worked with Bjork before) are listed. A&M will throw stupid money at someone ... TT fans are worried Tadlock leaves Tadlock is staying at his alma mater.
